Developing a personalised fan connection.
Fans just love VIP treatment, and when engaging your fans, it’s important to realise that while your music is your main product – it’s not your only product. There’s a lot more you can use to increase engagement and offer special treatment.
The fact is fans love it when they think they have a special unique connection with a band or artist or they have something that no one else has, and you could start by launching competitions offering up everything from free downloads and signed merchandise, but that’s just the beginning.
· Win a call with the band
You could set up competitions for fans to win a band phone call. Signup for Google Voice, and link your voice account to your mobile phone. It’s important to ensure you are careful with your settings – choosing -do not disturb- is a good idea. You’ll be able to receive texts and voice messages on a regular basis.
You can then choose a fan at random to receive a personal call with you and your band. Your winning fan can then blog and promote your band by writing about the experience as an interview to be distributed through social media channels.
You could also promote ‘win a call with the band’ to fans and listeners. At the same time, you could encourage them to subscribe to Go To Hear via your affiliate link, so that you can increase your affiliate network and platform earnings.
· Dedicated a new song to your best fan
Pick the fan who has done the most blogging on your behalf, bought the most Go To Hear platform downloads, given you the most tips, or who has been the most often to your gigs, and dedicate a new song to them as a thank you.
Promote what you’ve done and get your fan to blog and promote your song.
· Create custom art
For the fan who has supported you the most that month with platform signups via your affiliate link, you could design and give them a custom tee shirt – a piece of unique merchandising that only they have.
· Create ‘the best fan blog’
This could be a post about the fan who has supported you most – whether that’s platform signups via your affiliate link, downloads or volume of blog articles.
There are many more things you could come up with to provide your fans with a VIP experience.
By offering your fans the chance to receive something unique and personal you have the opportunity to increase engagement, and at the same time, you can encourage them to promote your music to others.
