JazzaLane is more than a jazz record — it’s a statement of artistic maturity and fearless reinvention. From heartfelt melodies to smooth, groove-infused instrumentals, the album reflects Hugo’s deep-rooted connection to jazz that began at just 13 years old. Singing covers of Michael Franks and other sentimental standards in a cozy French bistro called Le Bistro, Hugo developed a natural affinity for jazz that shaped his unique vocal style and musical identity.
“I’ve always set the trend — and someone else wins the Grammy,” Hugo jokes with his trademark wit. But behind the humor lies a serious commitment to artistic innovation. Each of Hugo’s projects has explored a new direction, and JazzaLane is no exception.
Having navigated the shift from iTunes downloads to streaming dominance, and now grappling with the rise of AI in music, Hugo has consistently stayed ahead of the curve. His strategic promotional approach has prioritized authentic listener engagement over fleeting numbers. “When the time came, our focus was on customer retention. Every stream, like, and comment mattered,” Hugo shares. “Partnering with V***** Music Group gave us the analytical tools to truly understand our audience — and once we knew what they wanted, retention became second nature. That allowed us to put more effort into reaching new fans.”
With JazzaLane, Hugo doesn’t just revisit jazz — he redefines it, bridging the past with a forward-looking sonic vision. The album is a testament to Hugo’s unmatched ability to cross musical boundaries while staying true to his artistic voice.
JazzaLane is now available on all major streaming platforms
