‘The world needs Fair Play for Music and at Go To Hear we aim to provide it.’
A bold statement?
Perhaps!
But, with Go To Hear, our exciting new crowd-driven music platform, we aim to change the future of music and offer an alternative to the current pay-per-stream model that’s failing the music industry – artists and fans in particular.
Go To Hear is the culmination of 4 years of research and development by a committed and talented team. It’s a new community-based, ethical and transparent music streaming eco-system for music discovery, delivery, and promotion with a new kind of revenue model.
It’s time artists were paid fairly and profited more from their hard work – which is why we won’t give music away. We believe the pressure to give music away totally undermines artist revenues. While it might be great for platforms wanting to profit from artists by giving away millions of tracks for $10 per month – we think an artist’s art is worth more than that.
Get paid fairly for your art and promotional work.
$0.0185 goes to the artist for each stream over 30 seconds – the most per stream paid out by any platform. *
We retain just $0.0015 per stream to cover our hosting and streaming costs – the lowest fee of any platform. *
We retain just 7.5% commission on the sale of downloads – the lowest commission fee of any platform.

Go To Hear Coin (GTHC) crypto currency.
Our crypto currency plans include:
- Today – a crypto currency reward system to help fairly, transparently, and widely distribute crypto currency rewards to our members. Rewards for working with us to make the music industry and particularly music streaming & distribution a fair place for all.
- Soon – a crypto currency to be used as an actual currency on the platform. Used like real money but with far less friction, far more transparency and far lower costs.
- In the future – a transparent blockchain voting system –a protocol giving members voting power on the future direction and development of the platform. Voting would be loosely based on how much of our crypto currency any member holds, at the time, of any vote. Our ethos has always been to build a platform for the members, ultimately run as the members require for their profit.
- In the future – a blockchain based crypto licensing system – a system which allows music to be secured and licensed for all music users. Starting off using Go To Hear platforms to demonstrate the principles of block chain tracking and licensing but eventually released in to the wild for others to use.
Notes: *
- Streams of 30 seconds or less are classed as samples and are free to all listeners
- Streams over 30 seconds we charge listeners 2.0 cents ($0.02 USD) per stream + any local taxes.
- Local taxes are calculated and charged based on the listeners location.
We charge and pay ‘sales taxes’ for artists for 2 reasons.
a) so that they don’t have to worry about registering and paying taxes in countries and states all over the world.
b) as an agent who facilitates the sales we are legally obliged to ensure these taxes are collected and paid.
- From the total 2.0 cents + taxes (where required) we charge…
- * 0.15 cents goes to Go To Hear to cover our security, support, hosting and bandwidth costs
- ** 1.85 cents ($0.0185 USD) goes to the artist
- any sales taxes are collected and paid by us to the relevant authorities linked to the buyers location
(these taxes are known by various names such as digital sales tax, sales tax, VAT, consumption tax and others depending on the jurisdiction) - we do this on behalf of the artist so that they don’t have to be concerned about registering for and paying the varying rates of sales taxes in different countries all over the world
- we do not collect and pay sales tax on your behalf to profit in any way what so ever, we do this solely to help artists and due to our legal obligation as the agent.
- Local taxes are calculated and charged based on the listeners location.
- it is important to note that Go To Hear act as the AGENT in sales and streaming. We sell and stream tracks on behalf of the artists. We collect monies and pay due sales taxes so that artists don’t have to.
- Go To Hear do NOT pay any of your ‘income taxes’ on your behalf. Every member who earns money from the Go To Hear platform is responsible for paying the appropriate income taxes on the money they earn.
